Casinos shut down in Moscow on 1 July, regardless of the willingness of gambling zones

Gambling in Moscow from 1 July 2009 will be closed in accordance with the law, regardless of whether there will be ready by that time, four Russian gambling area, said Deputy Mosgordumy Inna Svyatenko during the round table on gambling on Tuesday.

According to the law "On regulation of gambling, from 1 July 2009 gambling establishments in Russia will be able to operate only in four gambling zones - in Primorye and Altai region, Kaliningrad region, as well as on the border of the Krasnodar Territory and Rostov Region.

"With regard to Moscow, the law is good or bad, it remains the law and the law must comply. Since July 1, those businesses (gambling) that are not pereprofiliruyutsya and will continue to deal with than had to be closed", - said the deputy.

Earlier, the metropolitan mayor Yuri Luzhkov has repeatedly stated that Moscow would be free from gambling, which he called "cancer", by 1 July.

By the end of March, in Moscow, operating 30 casinos and 517 rooms slot machines.
